PETAN Chairman, Mr. Nicolas Odinuwe is to be honored with the Oil and Gas Trainers Association of Nigeria OGTAN National Award of Excellence in National and Regional Development in the Energy Industry.
This was contained in a letter of recognition confirming the award on the PETAN Chairman and signed by the OGTAN President, Mazi Sam Onyechi.
The letter stated that the OGTAN National Award was in recognition of persons and organisations who have objectively made impact in engendering the growth of human capacity development in the Oil and Gas Industry, which has by extension, aided the actualization of OGTAN’s goals of domestication and domiciliation of in-country skills.
“Your leadership of PETAN has projected Nigerian companies and created jobs and opportunities for Nigerians in the industry within the country and continent, especially through your flagship programme, the Sub-Saharan Africa International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference, SAIPEC”.
It further stated that the leadership of Mr. Odinuwe has further opened up a new vista of collaboration with OGTAN in deepening local content and building local capacities whilst harping on the importance of collaborations within the continent for the development of its natural and human resources.
Consequently, a collaboration between the sister organisations (OGTAN & PETAN) is to be consolidated through the signing of a Memorandum of Understand (MoU), expected to be signed after the award ceremony, at the seventh edition of the Sub-Saharan Africa International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference, SAIPEC, which kick-starts same day at the Eko Convention Center, Lagos.
The synergy between the two associations will be a strategic alliance which will strengthen the oil and gas industry capacity and acceptability and foster seamless achievement of complementary objectives of capacity building and development.
