The Director/CEO of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Engr. Sarki Auwaluhas extoled PETAN member oil and gas service companies for adding tremendous value to the industry.Engr. Auwalu gave the commendation during the VIP tour of the exhibition arena on Day 2 of the ongoing Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition (NAICE) organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers Nigeria Council (SPENC) at the Eko Hotel, Lagos.Engr. Auwalu however charged members of the association to increase service delivery and continue to adopt best practices in their operations to attract more opportunities for investments and partnerships with appropriate government agencies and other stakeholders.He promised that the DPR would continue to support PETAN as a critical stakeholder in the oil and gas industry in the country.He was accompanied by the Chairman of the Society of Engineers Nigeria Council (SPENC) Chairman, Engr. Olatunji Akinwunmi and a host of other dignitaries while PETAN Vice Chairman, Mr. Ranti Omole received them along with other PETAN executives including Publicity Secretary, Dr. Lucky Akhiwu (Oilflow) and Engr. Emeka Ene (Oildata & Xynergi) to the PETAN booth.Earlier, the DPR boss disclosed that the Department is formulating a Maximum Economic Recovery (MER) strategy for Nigeria to attain maximum value delivery from its oil and gas resources in a keynote address at the conference.He said the DPR would continue to foster innovative ideas and create opportunities for investments and sustainability in the industry.Auwalu said:“In our role as business enablers and opportunity providers, DPR will continue to collaborate with stakeholders to promote efficiency to meet the needs of the industry, creating value, enhancing transparency, reducing barriers and transaction costs.”
