AMB. DR. (ENGR). LUCKY AKHIWU is from Esan Southeast Local government, Edo State. He had his First-degree B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.Eng. in Petroleum Engineering.
He has an Executive MBA in Strategic Leadership in Oil & Gas from Georgetown University McDonough School of business, Washington D.C, USA. He also has an Executive MBA in Leading Change from Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of business, Rice University, Houston Texas. He is the Chairman Technical Committee Ship Owners Association of Nigeria (SOAN),
He is also a member of Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) and is currently the Publicity secretary for PETAN. He is currently the Vice President of the forum of South South Chambers of Commerce (FOCCIMA); He is the Chairman Oil and Gas Port Harcourt Chambers of Commerce (PHCCIMA).He is also a Senior Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and a Board Member of SPE[1]section 103.
He worked with Schlumberger, He was part of their flying squad and international mobile personnel referred to as Schlumberger Elite Group in Paris; He has vast and very knowledgeable experience from working in so many countries outside Nigeria like Paris, United Kingdom, Mozambique, Kenya, South Africa and USA.
He resigned from Schlumberger International in Aberdeen UK to establish his own firm known as Oilflow Services Nigeria Limited, that specializes in well intervention and subsea operations. Oilflow currently has a lot of assets for deployment of its operations. He is a Paul Harris fellow, a Major Donor of the Rotary Foundation and is also a past President of the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt District 9140. He was awarded Ambassador for Peace in 2016;
He was also awarded a Doctorate Degree in Oil and Gas in 2017 from Ashland University, Ohio USA.He is happily married to his beautiful wife Dr (Mrs.) Princess Elizabeth. Akhiwu and they are blessed with three (3) wonderful children. He is a Polo player and Occasional Golfer; He loves travelling for leisure.
